2025 Apprentice Millwright/Electrician Positions (x2) at Normet Africa, Johannesburg

Normet Africa is inviting applications for two exciting apprenticeship positions in Johannesburg: Millwright and Electrician. If you have a strong technical background and are eager to grow your career in engineering, these opportunities might be for you!

While applications are open to all suitably qualified candidates, preference will be given to permanent team members in the first instance, with external applicants considered thereafter. The selection process will align with the company’s Employment Equity Plan, which aims to ensure fair representation based on race, gender, and disability.

Requirements

To be considered for these roles, applicants must meet one of the following educational qualifications:

  • Grade 12 with Core Mathematics, Physical Science, Electrotechnology, and Engineering Graphic Design
    OR
  • N2 Certificate with four subjects, including Mathematics, Engineering Science, Electrical Trade Theory, and Industrial Electronics
    OR
  • National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 4 in Electrical Infrastructure Construction (EIC)

Additionally, candidates must:

  • Pass the ABET Level 4 Assessment (Numeracy & Literacy)
  • Be in good physical condition, ready to undergo a medical examination and other relevant tests
  • Hold a valid Code 08/B driver’s license

Added Advantages

Candidates with the following will have an edge:

  • Completion of a basic hand skill and measuring equipment course
  • Prior working experience in the engineering industry
