With the dawn of democracy in 1994, and the adoption of a new final constitution in1996, a provision was made for an Office of the President, which later became known as The Presidency. Under previous dispensations, the head of government in South Africa were Prime Ministers and State Presidents.
A fantastic opportunity is available for unemployed South African graduates and postgraduates under the age of 35, offering a 24-month internship programme. The programme is specifically designed to provide practical work experience for graduates with qualifications in a range of fields. Successful candidates will gain valuable industry experience and receive a stipend for the duration of the internship.
Stipend:
- R7 450.63 per month for National Diploma, Degree, or Honours qualifications
- R8 987.83 per month for Master’s Degree holders
Duration:
- 24-month contract
- Locations: Pretoria and Cape Town
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for this internship programme, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Unemployed South African graduate (with no previous internship experience)
- Under the age of 35
- Must possess an Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in one of the following fields:
- Social Science / Sociology
- Economics
- Industrial Engineering
- Research / Public Policy
- Development Studies (with Research as a major subject)
- Political Studies
- Media Studies / Communications / Public Relations / Creative Writing
- Honours / Masters in Economics, Development Studies, Statistics, or Town and Regional Planning
- Communication or Journalism (focusing on digital communication and social media)
- Public Management / Records Management or related Administration qualification
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Business Management
- Risk Management
- Auditing / Internal Auditing
- Social Science or equivalent qualification
- Law / LLB
- Financial Accounting
- Cost and Management Accounting
