Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
Firearm documentation required:
- Firearm competency – Manual Loading/bolt action (Unit standards 117705, 119651, and 123519)
- Valid Regulation 79 or 21 – bolt action or manual, no criminal record (valid SAPS Clearance certificate to be submitted as part of the application)
- Must have done a Basic Field Ranger course.
- Medical Certificate of Fitness.
- Understanding the Basic principles of Health & Safety (Health & Safety level 1)
- Ability to do extended patrols under difficult conditions.
- Physically fit & passionate about conservation and people.
- Candidates must have a basic understanding, preferably with experience of Field Ranger duties.
Responsibilities
- Guarding/protecting contractors as well as maintenance teams.
- Enforcing law, order, and discipline through NEMA.
- Ensure accurate records of incidents or sightings are kept.
- Undertaking routine patrols by means of foot or vehicle.
- Assisting with Conservation-related activities.
