Founded in 2012, the company was originally set up as the Middle East and Africa business unit of Building Energy’s global operations. Red Rocket’s portfolio comprises 3.7GW of projects in operation, under construction, awarded preferred bidder and about to reach financial close. The company is also developing a portfolio in excess of 16GW of additional best-in-class wind, solar, and hydro projects to bid under future rounds of South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) and other procurement programmes across various African countries, including the growing C&I market. Red Rocket’s growth strategy is based on pursuing a balanced portfolio of renewable assets in terms of geography, market maturity as well as currency exposure (ZAR, USD, EUR). - As a Brand Artist, you’ll go beyond the traditional designer role, actively championing our bold, fearless brand archetypes while creating compelling, original work that drives our brand forward.
Responsibilities:
- Impeccable attention to detail with a keen eye for creativity and design excellence.
- Crafting versatile visual elements that can adapt across a wide range of media and project types, including brand identities, communication campaigns, social media posts, multipage documents, presentations, fact sheets, brochures, and exhibits.
- Developing story-driven data visualizations to support projects with clarity and impact.
- Providing strategic guidance on web and print design, working seamlessly with corporate identity standards and style guides.
- Proactively managing schedules and tasks, balancing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.
- Design execution and refinement, including layout design, artwork amendments, and creating innovative templates and designs.
- Responding to feedback, making design corrections, and ensuring stakeholder approvals are effectively managed.
- Streamlining processes and systems, maintaining and improving filing systems, and developing new workflows for the team.
- Photography audits and visual content assessments to align with the brand identity.
- Improving communications, including emails, reports, and ad hoc tasks.
- Time management and planning, ensuring all deliverables meet structured lead times and deadlines.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or Arts
- Multimedia qualifications
- Proven proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite , InDesign, advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and experience with Google Workspace and SharePoint/MS Teams.
Minimum Previous Experience:
- Previous experience in creative spaces and working independently.
- Positive energy and an entrepreneurial spirit, able to balance big-picture thinking with hands-on execution of smaller tasks.
- A toolkit of proven methods and approaches, shaped by practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a natural curiosity to drive innovation.
- Knowledge of design thinking, UX, or other contemporary design disciplines will be valuable.
