The East London Industrial Development Zone was one of the first IDZs in South Africa to be awarded a provision operator’s licence in September 2002. The zone has come a long way since that very first milestone. Not only has it overcome various institutional and programme challenges to be where it is today, but it has, as the first operational IDZ in South Africa, helped to inform the South African government’s Special Economic Zones (SEZ) programme make up and policy framework.
The East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ) invites suitable graduates to apply for Graduate Internships in Eastern Cape, South Africa.
This 24-month internship is aimed at unemployed graduates, particularly those from the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, and offers preference to top academic achievers and persons with disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must hold the relevant qualifications.
- Citizenship: Open to South African citizens, with preference for residents of Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
- Disability: Preference given to persons with disabilities.
- Employment Status: Applicants must be unemployed, not engaged in full-time studies, and should not have prior relevant work experience or have participated in an internship before.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
