Capsicum Culinary Studio is Southern Africa’s most preffered professional chef education and training institution. Your educational culinary experience with Capsicum will equip you to work both locally and internationally. Our comprehensive culinary courses, are supported by a team of highly qualified professionals who are committed to training well-rounded chefs, readying you for the global culinary industry. The innovative curriculum integrates classroom learning with hands-on experience in the kitchen. In addition, the dedicated industry and development team will assist you with industry placement during your studies.
This prestigious culinary academy is awarding 21 bursaries across its campuses to aspiring chefs and pastry professionals for the 2025 academic year.
Programmes Covered by the Bursary
The bursary covers tuition for the following programmes:
- Foundational Cookery Programme (6 months)
- Qualification: NQF Level 3, SAQA ID: 110354
- Value: R21,500
- Professional Chef Programme (1 year)
- Qualification: NQF Level 4, SAQA ID: 102296
- Value: R96,500
- Professional Patisserie Programme (1 year)
- Qualification: City & Guilds Qualification Patisserie 8064-02
- Value: R96,300
Note: Bursaries cover tuition only. Costs for textbooks, equipment, uniforms, and travel are not included.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
- Be ready to begin studies in February 2025.
- Be committed to full-time, in-person learning.
- Meet specific programme entry requirements:
Foundational Cookery Programme
- Age: 18 years or older
- Education: Completed Grade 9 or NQF Level 2
Professional Chef Programme
- Age: 17 years or older (must be 18 by 30 June 2025)
- Education: Completed Grade 10 or NQF Level 2 with Mathematics Literacy
Professional Patisserie Programme
- Age: 18 years or older
- Education: Completed Grade 12/Matric or NQF Level 2 with Mathematics Literacy
Additional Requirements
- Agree to terms and conditions of the bursary.
- Be willing to act as a brand ambassador for Capsicum Culinary Studio.
- Have not completed any prior culinary or pastry course.
- Must not be a Capsicum staff member, friend, or family member.
Application Process
Applications must be submitted online via the Capsicum Culinaire Challenge Application 2025.

- Certified copy of your ID
- Proof of Grade 9/10/12 or NQF Level 2 completion
- Motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
- A video showcasing your culinary skills, from ingredient selection to final presentation
