AECOM invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2025.
The AECOM Bursary Programme is an opportunity for students pursuing studies in engineering and quantity surveying fields to gain financial assistance for the 2025 academic year. Below, you’ll find key information on the fields covered, bursary benefits, and application steps.
Fields Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following disciplines:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering (including Rail Engineers)
- Quantity Surveying
Bursary Coverage and Benefits
The AECOM bursary will cover:
- Tuition fees, prescribed books, and accommodation (up to a maximum of R100,000 per year).
- A laptop, valued at up to R8,000.
Renewal and Academic Performance: Bursaries are awarded for one year at a time and are renewable annually, provided students maintain a minimum average of 65%.
Service Contract: Recipients will be required to work at AECOM after graduation, fulfilling one year of full-time employment for each year the bursary was received.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the AECOM bursary, applicants must meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intending to study full-time in one of the specified fields.
- Be enrolled or registered at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa.
- Have achieved a minimum result of 75% in Matric.
- Have an overall average of 75% in Mathematics and Science in Matric.
- If currently at the tertiary level, have an average of at least 65%.
- Be highly motivated and intending to pursue a career in the built environment sector.
- No prior work experience required.
