Around 20% of the city lives in abject poverty in informal settlements that lack proper roads, electricity, or any other kind of direct municipal service. Another 40% live in inadequate housing with insufficient municipal housing.

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering an exciting internship opportunity within its Group Finance Department. This internship is tailored for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in revenue management and customer relations.

Internship Details

  • Department: Group Finance
  • Branch: Customer Relationship Agent: Revenue Call Centre
  • Designation: Internship: Revenue Call Centre
  • Duration: Up to 18 months
  • Stipend: R3,500.00 per month (Basic salary, no benefits)

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (NQF level 4)
  • Residency: Must be a resident of the City of Joburg.

As an intern, you will be involved in:

  • Applying standard operational procedures to log revenue account-related queries for all services offered by the City of Joburg, ensuring efficient processing by the relevant departments.
  • Maintaining electronically based information, data, and records.
  • Adhering to the Performance Management Policy of the City of Joburg Municipality.
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relations with RSSC customers, peers, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Efficiently utilizing operational assets and resources in your area of responsibility, aligning with the City’s policies and legislative framework.
