Are you an experienced lifeguard looking for an exciting opportunity? The Ndlambe Municipality is seeking 26 contractual lifeguards for the upcoming 2024/2025 season to ensure the safety of beachgoers at several Blue Flag and swimming beaches. This is an excellent chance to put your lifesaving skills to work while being part of a vital community service.
Job Details:
Position: Lifeguards (26 positions available)
Contract Type: Seasonal (2024/2025)
Salary: R11 366.52 per month
Task Grade: 05 of a Category 3 Local Municipality
Lifeguard Placement Locations:
The lifeguards will be stationed at the following beaches within Ndlambe Municipality, with placement determined by the municipality:
- Kariega Blue Flag Beach (Kenton-on-Sea) – 4 Lifeguards
- Kelly’s Blue Flag Beach (Port Alfred) – 3 Lifeguards
- Middle Blue Flag Beach (Kenton-on-Sea) – 3 Lifeguards
- Kleinemonde Island Beach – 3 Lifeguards
- Port Alfred (East Beach) – 3 Lifeguards
- Bushman’s Slipway Beach – 3 Lifeguards
- Boknesstrand Beach – 4 Lifeguards
- Fish River Mouth Beach – 3 Lifeguards
Requirements for Applicants:
To be considered for the lifeguard positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications:
- Lifeguard Award (LA) or Surf Proficiency Award (SPA) with a valid, up-to-date retest.
- Experience:
- Blue Flag Lifeguards: At least three seasons of experience on a Blue Flag beach, preferably within the Ndlambe area or Eastern Cape.
- Swimming Beach Lifeguards: Minimum of one season’s experience on a swimming beach, preferably within the Ndlambe area or Eastern Cape.
- Residency: Preference will be given to lifeguards residing in the Ndlambe area as no accommodation or meals will be provided.
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess a working cellphone and ensure it is loaded with airtime while on duty.
- Submission of the official application form along with copies of relevant certificates/retests.
