MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  • To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
  • Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
  • Lead and manage the staff in the unit
  • Manage the unit’s operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
  • Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
  • Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
  • Manage key stakeholder relations

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:   3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Postgraduate qualification in Theatre
  • DESIRED EDUCATION:  Nursing education qualification; Nursing management  qualification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital
  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE:  Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation
