MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
- To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organisational resources within a structured unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
- Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
- Lead and manage the staff in the unit
- Manage the unit’s operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
- Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
- Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
- Manage key stakeholder relations
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 3 or 4-year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Postgraduate qualification in Theatre
- DESIRED EDUCATION: Nursing education qualification; Nursing management qualification
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: At least 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital; 2-3 years leadership experience in a hospital
- DESIRED EXPERIENCE: Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation
