The National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) has seized property belonging to Darren Wilken and his girlfriend, Tiona Megan Moodley, who face charges related to child pornography.

The Johannesburg High Court granted the AFU’s application on February 17 to preserve cash seized at the crime scene in January, along with funds frozen in the couple’s bank account.

According to NPA spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane, Wilken was arrested on January 17 following a search and seizure operation by the police’s cybercrime unit. He faces multiple charges, including manufacturing and distributing child pornography, drug possession, and money laundering. Investigators allege that Wilken ran a child pornography website from his Midrand home, hosting what is believed to be the largest cache of such material ever found in South Africa.

Authorities also confiscated Wilken’s luxury vehicle, which had a personalized registration plate reading “KIDZ NA GP,” along with high-end electronic devices and R647,300 in cash.

Moodley was arrested on similar charges, including distributing child pornography and money laundering. The couple applied for bail, but their request was denied on February 14. Their case has been postponed for further investigation, with their next court appearance scheduled for March 24.
